IJEXÁ Description

Ijexá is a Candomble nation that was formed by slaves coming from Nigeria, in big quantities to the region of Salvador, Bahia.

In Candomble, Ijexá is essentially a rhythm that's played for the Orixás, Oxum, Osain, Logum-Edé, Exu, Oba, Oyá-Yansan and Oxalá.

The ijexá rythm is soft with beating and cadency marked beautifully, in the sound and the dance. Ijexá is only played with the hands and no drumsticks are used in these beat.
